The Most Boring Post Ever

Here's a photo that has absolutely nothing to do with this post at all.

Oh, it has really just been one of those weeks. Last week I found I just had nothing to share and so, instead of forcing the issue for the sake of posting, I chose rather to take the week off. Go me! But, despite the fact that I have as little to say this week as I did last, I felt I could not neglect my little blog yet again! And so here I am! Prepare to be dazzled by the most tedious of news items!

A few weeks back I broke my little toe on Ricky's pram. I don't think I've mentioned it, mostly because it's such a lame thing to break. My hardcore reputation would have been better upheld if I'd perhaps been driven through with a lance while fighting dragons but, alas, a broken digit is all I was afforded. After a few days of limping around and a further few of tentative walking, it was sufficiently healed for a more normal mode of locomotion and slightly sexier shoes. And the heavens rejoiced. Something as small and insignificant as a broken toe is somewhat amplified when one's day consists of carting a 9kg baby up and down stairs, I was surprised to discover. I've had more fun.

Not long after the toe incident I started suffering morning and evening joint pain in my fingers and, since yesterday, my toes also. I'm told it is either arthritis or repetitive strain injury. I'm voting in favour of the latter, although God alone knows what I could have possibly done to injure my fingers and toes. On Friday afternoon I'll be heading off to the doc for a visit to figure it all out. Apparently I may have blood tests and x-rays to look forward to... Let's hope not. So much blood was pulled from my body during Ricky's confinement within my womb that I'm sure I hardly have any left!

Is this not the most beautiful toothy grin!?

Speaking of my little man, can you believe it's only five days until he's eight months old!? How time has flown! He's still not crawling properly, but he has started trying to pull himself up to standing. A few days ago he managed to get to his feet for a few seconds before sitting down hard on his little bum. He's also been enjoying his first mosquito season. Poor soul looks like he spent a week in the Amazon! We found a kiddies mozzie repellent that seems to be doing the trick, so let's hope it keeps up the good work!

And of course we are just over a month away from Ricky's first Christmas! I can't wait! I've been going crazy trying to organise gifts for everyone, but I think it's finally all sorted. I can't wait for the 1st of December so we can put the tree up. I'm ridiculously English in that respect - it's quite an event! I know he won't remember a thing about this Christmas, but I'm going to take about a million photos! I'm going to have to clear out my phone before then, it's already jammed full of pics of my angel pie!

But right now I'm going to bed. It's been a long day and my weary joints need rest.

Here's to a few well deserved zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Smiles,
Mommy
